Strong Mind for a Strong Body

Can you focus? I mean really focus. Are you able to spend just two minutes without being distracted, free from the noise and constant chatter bouncing around in your head?

For just two minutes sit quietly and clear your mind of all activity—be free from any thought. Go ahead. Close your eyes. I’ll wait. Seriously, give it a try. The clock is ticking.

Did you make it? If not, that’s OK. Few do the first time. It takes practice to develop and refine this skill, as any seasoned meditator can attest.

Please don’t let your brief experience with focusing be discouraging. Like any skill worth possessing, it takes practice to acquire. For most of us it’s tough to focus on anything, let alone nothing.

We live in a world that barters for our attention, compromises our focus, and steals precious time. Our minds must withstand a constant assault of stimulus. The ability to create your own sanctuary of sanity, a place to renew and connect with your own truth is the master skill of an extraordinary life.

Perhaps more than any other factor, it is the mastery of your focus, which precedes the mastery of your energy, that separates the average performers from the peak performers in life. The freedom to place your absolute attention where you want it, when you want it, offers an unfair competitive advantage in a world where the average attention span is measured in seconds, not minutes.

It’s precisely this skill that has so many high-profile leaders adopting meditation practices. Typically, the mention of meditation conjures up images of a kind, elderly gentleman sitting on a cushion. In truth, meditation is anything that brings you to the current moment (“the Now”) and keeps you there.

Reduces free radicals, heart rate and biological aging

Life Home Project Foundation objectives:

1. To reduce and prevent HIV transmission by providing HIV-related education by the Outreach & Community Action Program which includes hospital visits, prevention programs, training seminars, awareness raising, activities for children, telephone support service and the Hands Project, an innovative way to connect people living with HIV/Aids around the world

2. To provide a healthy a safe environment for HIV positive women and children including accommodation, food and basic medical care, where they can live safely in a supportive community

3. To give psychological, practical and economical support by teach HIV positive women new work skills in accordance with their interests and abilities, such as Bakery, Sawing, Art and Handicraft and also basic communicative English to encourage them to be self sufficient and self-esteem to begin their own life or find a job that will allow them to be independent.

4. To provide an education to children through the scholarship program and the day care program for preschool children for children who are particularly vulnerable

Kelas bersama Prof Dr Rohany Nasir. Teori Psikoanalis. Bermula jam 10.00 pagi. Menurut Prof perlu banyak membaca masalah-masalah melibatkan manusia yang disiarkan dalam surat khabar. Banyakkan juga membaca kes-kes kaunseling untuk mendapatkan maklumat. Perlu memahirkan diri dengan teori kaunseling kerana dalam program master pelajar akan dianggap sudah mengetahui mengenai teori dan perbincangan menjurus lebih mendalam kearah pendekatan teori. Sosiologi mengkaji persamaan manusia manakala psikologi mengkaji perbezaan tingkah laku manusia.

Ciri Kaunselor Islam

CIRI KAUNSELOR ISLAM
Islam juga menekankan betapa pentingnya peranan kaunselor dengan memberi perhatian kepada ciri-ciri kaunselor yang baik antaranya:
Hikmah (bijaksana)
Kaunselor hendaklah menggunakan kebijaksanaannya dalam ia menerima pelanggan (klien) dengan hati terbuka, menggunakan tutur kata yang baik dan menyenangkan atau cara kasar mengikut rentak yang sesuai dengan pelanggan yang ganas sekiranya cara itu boleh menawan hati pelanggan dan melemahkannya sebelum diajak berbincang dalam suasana penuh kemesraan.
Mau’izah (pengajaran yang baik)
Apabila kaunselor bertindak memberi nasihat dengan penuh kasih sayang dan ikhlas hati dengan mengemukakan buruk baiknya sesuatu itu agar pelanggan dapat membuat pertimbangan yang wajar berdasarkan Rasulullah sendiri pun diutuskan untuk menyatakan khabar berita yang menggembirakan dan khabar berita yang menakutkan
Mujadalah (dialog)
Berdialog dengan kliennya dengan memberikan hujjah-hujjah yang munasabah dan bersesuaian dengan masalah yang dihadapi, oleh itu, kaunselor juga harus ada ilmu dan pengalaman supaya ia boleh dijadikan garis panduan ketika membantu klien.
Ilmu Allah
Qada dan Qadar itu rahsia Allah dan tidak ada sesiapa yang mengetahuinya, maka hal ini boleh diambil pakai untuk kaunseling klien yang bermasalah bagi mencari ketenteraman jiwa.
Empat ciri-ciri yang dibincangkan ini juga menjadi pegangan kaunselor/terapis barat melalui teori yang dikemukakan oleh Carl Roger (Person Centered Therapy).

30hb Jun 2009

Telah mendaftar untuk Program Sarjana Sains Sosial (Psikologi Kaunseling). Menghadiri taklimat antara jam 11.30 pagi hingga 12.30 tengahari. Solat Zohor kemudian ke makmal komputer untuk pendaftaran. Selesai jam 4.00 petang. Mengambil 6 subjek. Kelas setiap hari dalam seminggu. Kuliah bermula daripada 6hb. Jun 2009.

Malam ini selepas maghrib, kita akan mengadakan Doa Selamat dan Kesyukuran di Masjid Tok Muar. Program diadakan secara ringkas. Mengadu dengan Tuhan ini penting dalam kita memulakan sesuatu perkara. Sebab kita tidak ada daya upaya dan kekuatan melainkan hanya dengan kehendak Allah swt.
Tuhan ini banyak peranannya dalam hidup. Dalam gerak geri, dalam makan dan minum, dalam pergaulan harian, dalam mengambil keputusan dan tindakan Tuhan penting. Jangan kesampingkan Tuhan dalam mengatur diri kita.
Kita ini merancang dan berusaha, Tuhan yang menentukan !!

Pendaftaran

Alhamdulillah, saya akan mendaftar untuk mengikuti Sarjana Sains Sosial ( Psikologi Kaunseling ) di Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia pada 30hb. Jun 2009. Syukur ke hadrat Allah swt yang telah membuka ruang dan peluang untuk saya melanjutkan pelajaran dalam Bidang Psikologi Kaunseling.
Ruang ini akan saya gunakan untuk mencatatkan segala kenangan bermula daripada 30hb. Jun 2009 hingga 31 Disember 2010. Semoga Allah swt menyempurnakan hajat ini. Ameen...
Tidaklah sempurna rasanya jika saya tidak mengambil kesempatan ini untuk merakamkan penghargaan dan terima kasih kepada Encik Norahim bin Mohd Sani, salah seorang pensyarah UKM yang turut menyatakan sokongan dan bersedia untuk membantu saya. Saya juga merakamkan penghargaan kepada Wargayks kerana sentiasa turut mendoakan kejayaan saya dalam apa jua bidang yang saya ceburi. Saya dapat rasakan bahawa mereka merasakan kejayaan saya sebagai sebahagian daripada kejayaan mereka juga. Tanpa pengorbanan mereka belum tentu saya dapat meluangkan masa untuk mengikuti program ini. Saya mendoakan kesejahteraan dan kebahagiaan ke atas keluarga dan anak-anak mereka. Mereka yang dimaksudkan ialah Puan Ajurah Ishak, Puan Zarinah dan Puan Hajah Norizan Zakaria.
Saya juga merakamkan penghargaan kepada Ustaz Ahmad Zaki Haji Hamzah yang turut memberi sokongan moral supaya saya meneruskan pengajian saya ini. Selain daripada itu, saya juga turut mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih kepada Ustaz Norazman bin Amat, Encik Wan Aminuddin dan Ustaz Jaafar bin Muhammad di atas doa dan sokongan mereka. Hati berasa gembira apabila sms memaklumkan bahawa saya menerima tawaran untuk menyambung belajar mendapat respon doa daripada Ustaz Jaafar bin Muhammad.
Tidak sempurna rasanya kalau saya tidak sempat merakamkan penghargaan kepada mereka yang menganggap saya ayah mereka. Mereka yang saya maksudkan ialah Jafarsidik Muhammad, Muhammad Syahzlan Abdullah, Muhammad Adam Chang, Muhammad Aiman dan mereka adalah anak-anak saya yang tiada susurgalur !
